House ratio & liquidity
House Ratio shows how well the pool covers what it owes. Profit Liquidity shows how much USDC is available to convert Blood above your protected amount.
House Ratio: the pool against what it owes
The house counts all Blood, plus a conservative reserve for profits on winning open positions. Losses on positions that are still open do not reduce this amount.
For this calculation, 1 Blood counts as 1 USDC. A House Ratio of 100% means the pool covers everything it owes; any extra USDC is surplus. Energy receives 1% of each realized loss for every percentage point the House Ratio is above 100% just before the loss, up to 100% of the loss at a House Ratio of 200% or higher.

Profit Liquidity: cash for extra Blood
Protected Blood has USDC reserved for it. Converting any Blood above your protected amount uses Profit Liquidity, shared by all users.
The reserve includes Protected Blood used as margin and rounds up to USDC precision. Profit Liquidity has a minimum of zero. Available cash is used as conversions happen; a quote does not reserve it for you.

One pool, two different results
| Pool balances | Amount |
|---|---|
| USDC in the pool | 10,000 USDC |
| Total Blood | 12,000 Blood |
| Reserved open profits | 500 Blood |
| Total Protected Blood | 8,000 Blood |
Here, up to 2,000 USDC can fund extra Blood conversions before fees, while 8,000 USDC stays reserved for Protected Blood. Energy gets no share of losses here: the pool would need more than 12,500 USDC, everything it owes. Profit Liquidity can therefore be available even when the House Ratio is below 100%.
Donations
Anyone can donate USDC to the pool to improve the House Ratio. There is no direct reward: donors receive no Blood or Energy and have no right to repayment or a refund.
