Closing and the keep curve

Close any position at any time, on its own or with others in one transaction.

The exit price

A close fills like an open: at the mark when the house keeper fills it, about 5 seconds (default) after you ask, with no spread. Your price protection applies: if the mark moves past it first, the close is cancelled and the position stays open. While a close waits, its row shows "Closing". See how orders fill.

Any time, one or many

There is no minimum time: you can ask to close a position right after it opens. "Close all" asks to close every position in one transaction; each one then fills, or is cancelled, on its own. A close can't be called off once asked.

The keep curve

A winning trade keeps a share of its profit that depends only on the size of the price move, not on leverage or size. Small moves keep little, large moves keep up to 90%, and what isn't kept stays in the pool. Losses are never scaled.

keep(m) = 90% × m ÷ (m + h) m = price move − 0.2 bp h = 2.73 bp for ETH, 1.89 bp for BTC

An example

100 Blood at 50× is a 5,000 notional ETH long. It fills at a mark of 2,500.00, so it enters at 2,500.00. Ten minutes later its close fills at a mark of 2,550.00: a 2% move with a raw profit of 100.00. It keeps 88.7%, so the Maneki gains 88.70 Blood, and 11.30 stays in the pool.

Losses and Energy

A losing close removes the loss from Blood, capped at the position's margin, and mints the same amount of Energy.
