FAQ

Short answers to the questions that come up most.

Can I lose more than my margin?

No. Each position's loss is capped at its own margin, which was reserved out of the Maneki's Blood when it opened.

Is there really no spread?

Yes. Every open and close fills at the mark itself, the same price for every size. Orders fill about 5 seconds (default) after you place them, once a new mark is out, so nobody can trade on a price they saw coming. That wait does the job a spread does elsewhere. See how orders fill.

Why is my order still “Opening”?

Orders normally fill at the mark about 5 seconds (default) after you place them. With the default timings, an unfilled order expires 30 seconds after becoming fillable. Anyone can then submit an onchain cancellation. Your margin stays locked until that cancellation executes. See how orders fill.

Why was my order cancelled?

Usually the mark moved past your price protection before the fill. Your margin (or, for a close, your position) is just as it was. The other reasons are listed in how orders fill.

Can I close right after opening?

Yes. There is no minimum hold. The close fills at the mark a few seconds after you ask.

Do I lose my Energy when I convert Blood to USDC?

No. Converting keeps the Maneki and its Energy, which keeps sharing payouts as it cools, even with no Blood left. Only departing burns it.

Why does my Energy go down every day?

By default, all Energy cools 3% a day at 00:00 UTC, so payouts lean to recent losses. Your Energy earned, every Energy your losses have minted, never goes down. See Energy.

What fees are there?

Mint at least 50 USDC in 0.01 USDC steps. After the 2% mint fee, each USDC creates 1 Blood, fully protected. The default conversion fee is 5%, waived for the first X Blood converted from each Maneki, where X is the Blood it received at mint. This is a total across all conversions. For example, a Maneki minted with 980 Blood can convert its first 980 Blood fee-free. A marketplace sale costs the seller a fee out of the sale price, shown before listing (at most 5%); the buyer pays only the listed price.

Why does my Maneki show a question mark?

Its look isn't revealed yet. That usually takes seconds; if its randomness is late, Manekora reveals it from a recent block hash after about 30 seconds, and the Reveal button asks for that. It trades, moves and converts meanwhile.

Is Energy money?

No. It can't be cashed and its shares can be zero for long periods. It only ever pays out as Blood, as a share of later realized losses.

How many positions can one Maneki hold?

BTC and ETH each start with 1 billion Blood notional per direction, shared by all users. A position may use up to 10 million notional and 1000× leverage; minimum margin is 10 Blood and minimum notional is 100 Blood. Independent active-position and pending-open count limits also apply. Pending opens reserve margin; capacity is checked again at fill. Initial count limits: 4,096 active positions globally and 2,048 per market; 1,024 pending opens globally, 512 per market and 10 per Maneki. Each Maneki holds at most 20 positions and pending opens together. Pending closes do not use these open-request limits.

Who liquidates positions?

Closes and liquidations settle at the mark price. The mark/oracle deviation check applies to new positions. Keeper bounties come from a separate wallet; insufficient funds or a failed bounty payment do not block liquidation.
